Tiago Splitter Injury: Updates on Hawks PF’s Hip and Return

Atlanta Hawks forward-center Tiago Splitter will be absent for Tuesday night's game against the Boston Celtics after suffering a hip injury in Saturday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, per Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Splitter to Have Injured Hip Examined Tuesday, Nov. 24 "I think we'll know more at the end of the day," said Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer, per Vivlamore. "We are going to have him looked at."

Splitter is in his first season with the Hawks after they traded for him in July from the San Antonio Spurs. 

The 6'11" big man has had problems staying on the court, as he's only played more than 60 games in a season once in the past five years. 

Splitter was brought in to provide depth on the Hawks' bench, as they have Paul Millsap and Al Horford occupying the power forward and center slots. That was Splitter's role for most of his time in San Antonio, as well, and he showed that he could produce when called upon.
