The NBA Season Ends Painfully for James, Wade, Bosh, and Johnson

It’s official, the top four free agent candidates for the summer of 2010 are all unhappy.  Each player’s team failed to live up to reasonable expectations and bowed out of the playoff picture in disgrace.

The only big free agent possibility still in the playoffs is the one not expected to be there.  Really, most people didn’t believe Amare Stoudemire would still be with the Suns past the trade deadline, and no one predicted he would be playing in the Western Conference finals.

Now Stoudemire is the only potential free agent who most people believe might actually return to his current team for next season.  Who knew?

Listening to what these free agents are saying, it is possible to believe that all could return to their current teams.  But it is just as easy to interpret their comments as, “pencil me in elsewhere next season!”

The comments from LeBron James that “his team” (which apparently is not a reference to the Cavaliers) has been planning for his pending free agency and now it’s time to implement that plan are not really any different from what Bo ...
