March and April is the perfect time for a basketball team to get hot.

The Miami Heat are currently 11-3 in March, and pending the outcome of Wednesday's contest with the Detroit Pistons, the team could come within one victory of their total winning output in January and February—combined.

The Heat are rolling at the appropriate time. Despite Dorell Wright's recent headlines regarding a nude photo surfacing over the web and a DUI charge a few weeks ago, most of the coverage on the team is regarding how surprisingly well they have fared over the past month.

The Heat have defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, and the streaking Milwaukee Bucks while defeating mediocre teams throughout the month as well.

And despite their three defeats, only the contest against the San Antonio Spurs was a game that was, for the most part, out of reach before the final frame.

The Heat blew a 15-point lead against Charlotte and should have won. They forced overtime against Orlando and could have stolen one from the Magic.
