Let's say that the Wolves get a high first-round pick.

Let's say that the Wolves sign a pretty good free agent.

Let's say that the Wolves acquire Nikola Pekovic, and he becomes as good as expected.

What would happen to the Wolves? They'd get a whole lot better than some other teams in the league.

The highlight of the Wolves' rebuilding process is this new found direction. The Wolves know what they want out of their current roster, who to use, who to sit, who plays well, and who could be a star.

This is more than you could say of some other bad teams.

The Timberwolves were on the decline a few years ago, while there were a lot of teams thriving. Now, there are a lot of teams that are starting to see a need to rebuild.
