The Forgotten Player of the Jordan Era: Dominique Wilkins

Michael Jordan may have been the best player not only of his generation but the history of basketball, but one person was always in his shadow: Dominique Wilkins.

A prolific scorer known for his crazy dunks, Wilkins dominated the inside game. What really made him not as known was the fact that he was never able to win a title.

Winning a title isn't everything though, because you need a supporting cast to back you up. If he was playing in the NBA today he would have more scoring titles than just one like he actually had, because in the '80's, basketball was dominated by seven-foot centers until Jordan came along and made it for guards.

But with the lack of really great shot blockers, Wilkins could really drive inside.  Remember now, he's only 6'7" and he's dunking like a center.

Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, anyone else? Yeah, only the human highlight film himself—Dominique Wilkins.
