Thabo Sefolosha Injury: Updates on Hawks SF’s Recovery from Leg Surgery

Atlanta Hawks swingman Thabo Sefolosha has been fully cleared to return from leg surgery as the team prepares for training camp.

Hawks Expect Thabo, Korver and Mack Back Monday, Sept. 21 Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Sefolosha and guards Kyle Korver and Shelvin Mack can participate in practice to "differing degrees."

“I would say, to differing degrees, they are doing basketball activities now,” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said, per Vivlamore. “Whether it’s some 2-on-2 or 3-on-3 between now and camp there is the potential for some 5-on-5 in a limited kind of way. But shooting, working out and doing those types of things, they are making good progress.”

Sefolosha, 31, is currently recovering from a broken fibula and ligament damage, sustained during an incident with New York City police in April. The incident cost him the final five games of the 2014-15 regular season and the Hawks' entire run to the Eastern Conference Finals. Mack and Korver were each injured in the conference finals, which made Sefolosha's absence even more glaring.
