T.J. McConnell Injury: Updates on 76ers PG’s Ankle and Return

Philadelphia 76ers point guard T.J. McConnell was forced to exit Tuesday's clash with the Orlando Magic after suffering a right-ankle sprain.

McConnell Doubtful Wednesday vs. Detroit Tuesday, Feb. 23 Philadelphia Magazine's Derek Bodner relayed the update and noted McConnell will travel with the team for Wednesday's meeting with the Detroit Pistons. 

An undrafted rookie free agent out of Arizona, McConnell has excelled during his first NBA season. Entering Tuesday night, McConnell was averaging 6.1 points, 4.7 assists and 1.3 steals, but those numbers don't tell the complete story. 

According to NBA.com's player-tracking data, McConnell is sandwiched between Indiana Pacers shooting guard Monta Ellis and Atlanta Hawks backup point guard Dennis Schroder with 11.4 points generated via his assists per game. 



For a rookie averaging 20.6 minutes per game, that's quite an impact.
