Veteran forward Steve Novak is a free agent after the Denver Nuggets announced Friday they had waived him, but his stay on the open market may not last long.

Report: Bucks Expected to Sign Novak Saturday, Feb. 20 According to ESPN.com's Marc Stein, the Milwaukee Bucks are expected to sign Novak once he clears waivers. Brian Windhorst of ESPN reported the Bucks are most likely to cut Chris Copeland to make room for Novak.

Novak was traded along with guard D.J. Augustin and two second-round picks from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Nuggets on Thursday in exchange for guard Randy Foye.

The 32-year-old former Marquette star is in the midst of his 10th NBA season and has already played for eight different teams—a fact he joked about on Twitter after being dealt to Denver:



While he appeared in just seven games this season for OKC, the 2006 second-round pick has proved capable of being a weapon off the bench in the past.
