Steve Nash Becomes 5th Player in NBA History to Reach 10,000 Assists

In case you are the one person who still isn't sold on Steve Nash's greatness, the legendary point guard's newest accomplishment should do the trick.

Against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night, Nash became just the fifth player in NBA history to record 10,000 career assists.

The Los Angeles Lakers announced the news via Twitter:

— Los Angeles Lakers (@Lakers) January 9, 2013 With the achievement, he joined a pretty decent group that consists of John Stockton, Jason Kidd, Mark Jackson and Magic Johnson. 



Catching a few of the names on that list shouldn't be too difficult. 



If Nash averages 8.6 assists (his career average, which is admittedly far less than what he has tallied over the past eight seasons) per game this season, he will accumulate another 418 helpers should he stay healthy. 

That would push him ahead of Johnson (10,141) and Mark Jackson (10,334).
