Steve Clifford has helped propel the Charlotte Hornets to an 8-6 start following a 2014-15 campaign loaded with regression, and the team has reportedly rewarded the tactician with a contract extension.
The Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reported Wednesday that the extension includes a three-year guarantee through the 2018-19 season. ESPN's Brian Windhorst confirmed the report.

Clifford joined the Hornets for the 2013-14 season after serving as an assistant with the Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets and New York Knicks, and his arrival made a world of difference for a club that had become renowned as an Eastern Conference also-ran.
