Stephen Curry on Track to Break His Own 3-Point Record?

The Golden State Warriors meet the Los Angeles Lakers for their second of two exhibition games in China on Friday. If Stephen Curry's performances in the preseason to this point are any indication, he'll be dropping treys all night long.

So far, Steph has shot nine out of 25 from beyond the three-point line in just 100 minutes of action. In other words, he's hoisting them up. Last year Curry set the record for threes made in a season with 272—erasing Ray Allen's previous high-water mark of 269, set during the 2005-06 season.



So what about this season? If you extrapolate Curry's preseason numbers to his 38.2 minutes per game last year over a full 82-game season, you wind up with 282 made threes on 783 attempts. That's not exactly a high degree of accuracy, but it does break his own record, and by a lot. Then again, if he's shooting .453 like he did last season, he won't need as many attempts, right?
