Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry earned the first ejection of his NBA career Thursday night. It came in a 115-101 Game 6 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2016 NBA Finals after he threw his mouthguard into the crowd at Quicken Loans Arena, per SportsCenter.
Curry would've been forced to leave the game anyway after picking up his sixth foul. He finished with 30 points on 8-of-20 shooting.
After the game, Curry was asked about his actions, per Howard Beck of Bleacher Report. "Definitely didn't mean to throw it at a fan," he said. "But it happened, and I went over and apologized to him."
It was a surprising show of frustration from the two-time reigning MVP, who rarely loses his composure on the court. SB Nation's Spencer Hall summed up the situation:
