If Golden State Warriors followers have noticed a smaller social media presence from Stephen Curry, it's apparently not because the reigning MVP has started slacking with his Twitter account. Bryant Barr, a roommate and teammate of Curry’s at Davidson, explained Curry has shied away recently from directly interacting with fans.
In an interview with For The Win's Nina Mandell, Barr talked about how Curry's profile online exploded as his star on the court grew: "And then in the last couple of years, I started to see his activity go down and we started having conversations about it. I asked why it was and his response was, 'It's just too much of a hassle, it's too much noise, there's too much friction to make it worthwhile to spend time doing this.'"
Rather than Twitter, Curry has used Slyce—a company Barr helped to start—to talk to fans online. Occasionally, the Warriors point guard has tweeted out an open invitation for fans on the new platform:
