Steph Curry Passes Father Dell on NBA All-Time Made 3-Pointers List

Like father, like son—except the son does things a little better.

Stephen Curry knocked down his 1,246th career three-pointer in the third quarter of the Golden State Warriors' game against the Brooklyn Nets Saturday, which moved him past his father Dell for the 42nd-most made three-point baskets in NBA history, per CBS Sports.



Curry's long-range bomb came with three minutes, 13 seconds remaining in the third quarter. He also made a three-pointer early in the fourth quarter, moving him past the recently retired Hedo Turkoglu for 41st. Another three-pointer with 5:24 left in the fourth quarter tied him for 40th with Derek Fisher.

"I knew about it going into the game," said Curry, per ESPN.com. "It's a pretty special moment for my family. I'm sure he never dreamt of the day one of his sons would pass him."

What's even more impressive about Curry's ascension on the all-time list is how early in his career he's doing it. Curry has played in 427 games. In comparison, his father needed 1,083 games to hit 1,245 threes, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
