Spurs’ Tony Parker Turned Away from Memphis Restaurant

Tony Parker has led the San Antonio Spurs to a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference Finals matchup versus the Memphis Grizzlies, but it looks like he may be walking into Saturday's Game 3 with an empty stomach.  

As first reported by the Houston Chronicle, Parker attempted to dine at the popular Memphis establishment Restaurant Iris on Friday night. Arriving without a reservation, Parker was denied service.

But he's Tony Parker, NBA point guard. There has to be room for him somewhere, right? Not in Memphis. Parker was turned away from the restaurant, a move which was confirmed by the establishment's proprietor, Kelly English on Twitter:



Before we go too far in accusing Restaurant Iris ownership of mind-games chicanery to help out the hometown Grizzlies, that doesn't seem to be the case. English expanded on his reasoning for sending Parker away, stating that the restaurant was booked and plays no favorites with its patrons:
