Tuesday night the surging San Antonio Spurs will host the struggling Los Angeles Lakers. San Antonio comes in with a league-best record of 26-4, while the Lakers are just 21-9 after starting the season 8-0. The Spurs quickly bounced back after falling at Orlando 123-101 last Thursday with a 94-80 win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday.

The Lakers lost 98-79 last Tuesday at Milwaukee, and followed that up with a 96-80 loss at home to the Heat on Christmas.  This will be the first meeting between these two this season. For those interested in betting on this game, our NBA spreads have the Spurs favored by 3-points over the Lakers at home.

The Lakers can't be happy with the way they have played in the last two games, and it won't get any easier against the Spurs. Kobe Bryant is not happy with the energy and focus the Lakers have brought so far this season, and it will be interesting to see how this team responds.

Bryant tied Pau Gasol with a team-high 17 points against the Heat, but it was an all-around bad shooting performance from the Lakers, who scored only 14 points in the first quarter, and just 16 in the final period.
