Sonny Weems has continued to impress for the Toronto Raptors, now hitting double figures in his last six games.

Sonny Weems reached new heights Wednesday night shooting 55.5 percent from the field for a career high 25 points to go along with four rebounds and two assists.

Sonny Weems is averaging an eye-popping 18.8 points a game in games he has played over 24 minutes, and you can bet this fact will not be lost on Raptors head coach Jay Triano.

Sonny Weems in all likelihood has solidified his hold on the starting small forward job and probably really opened a lot of eyes in Raptor land with his performance last night.

Already one of the Toronto Raptors' best defenders, Sonny Weems has been putting his emerging offensive game on display recently and has earned the confidence of his teammates and coaches alike.

Sonny Weems is proving that he can be consistent and that he deserves to be considered a part of the core of this team.

Now it is up to Bryan Colangelo to ensure that he is.

It's time to extend Sonny Weems before the price tag goes up any further.
