Shaquille O’Neal Could Go To Boston: What This Means For Celtics

ESPN is reporting that Shaq is "close" to signing with Beantown.  

At 38 years of age, there was question of whether diesel would come back for a nineteenth season.  

In the 2010 playoffs, Shaq's Cleveland Cavaliers were denied by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.  

Now, if the big man goes to Boston and decides not to do full-time commercials with Ben Stein, what role will he play?

Last season, Shaq averaged 12 points and around seven rebounds for the Cavs.

The Celtics are currently already deep in the center position, with Kendrick Perkins (who might not begin the season with his knee injury), Jermaine O'Neal, Rasheed Wallace (pending his retirement decision) and rookie Semih Erden.

But hey, you can never have too big of a bench, right?

In fact, this would be a great addition for the Celtics.

During the finals, many Boston fans pointed to the injury to Perkins as a major reason why the Lakers took game 7.

Now, if Perkins gets into foul trouble, Doc Rivers can keep Wallace at forward and switch center between Jermaine and Shaq.< ...
