Sergey Karasev Injury: Updates on Nets Wing’s Knee and Return

March 10th, 2015 by Joseph Zucker Leave a reply »

According to Tim Bontemps of the New York Post, Brooklyn Nets wing Sergey Karasev suffered a knee injury in the Nets' 111-91 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night. Bontemps also reported Karasev won't travel with the team as it prepares for an upcoming four-game road trip.

The Nets announced earlier in the night that the 21-year-old sprained his right knee and will have tests done Wednesday to determine the severity of the injury. Rod Boone of Newsday reported that Karasev was using crutches after the game.

Devin Kharpertian of The Brooklyn Game thinks the way in which Karasev injured the knee doesn't bode well:

Karasev entered the game averaging 4.8 points and two rebounds a game for Brooklyn.

Although he doesn't occupy a vital role for the Nets, he provides depth off the bench, something the team will need as it continues its push for the playoffs.
