San Antonio Spurs vs. Golden State Warriors: Live Score, Highlights and Reaction

October 25th, 2016 by Andy Bailey Leave a reply »
The San Antonio Spurs crashed the Golden State Warriors 2016-17 hype party, crushing the defending Western Conference champions, 129-100 on Tuesday at Oracle Arena.

The Spurs were led by Kawhi Leonard, who poured in a career-high 35 points on 10-of-21 shooting (15-of-15 from the free-throw line). LaMarcus Aldridge pitched in with 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting.

The Warriors, meanwhile, were led by Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. The duo combined for 53 points on 20-of-36 shooting.

The problem, of course, was on the other end. San Antonio scored 129 points, thanks in large part to 20 offensive rebounds (the Warriors only had 27 defensive rebounds).

Figuring out a way to counter teams with strong frontcourts like the Spurs will be something Golden State has to do on the fly.

It'll get another shot at it on Friday, against Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans. For the Spurs, their chance to move to 2-0 comes Thursday against the Sacramento Kings.
