Sacramento Kings to Use Throwback Court Design from 1985 for 6 Games This Season

Something old, something new and something blue. Although there won't be any nuptials for the Sacramento Kings, a big, exciting change awaits them.

Before they depart Sleep Train Arena for the new Golden 1 Center next season, the NBA franchise will give its court the throwback treatment for this year's final five #FlashbackFriday matchups and the last home game of the season.

Taking fans on a trip back to Oct. 25, 1985, the hardwood design hails from the Kings' inaugural season at Sleep Train Arena and will feature everything from the original logo to the characteristically '80s font and detailing.

But the illusion of time travel would be incomplete without the team's retro baby blue uniforms, which DeMarcus Cousins and Co. will step out in for those six special games.

It's a clever and fitting tribute to the longtime regal home. Is it too much to ask to have LaSalle Thompson lace them back up for the finishing touch?
