Rudy Gobert Injury: Updates on Jazz Center’s Ankle and Return

Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert suffered an ankle injury on Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He didn't play Thursday vs. the Miami Heat, and his timeline to return to the floor is up in the air at this point.

Latest on Gobert's Playing Status Thursday, Nov. 12 The Jazz said, per Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, that Gobert will be a game-time decision Friday vs. the Orlando Magic.

Gobert Injury a Massive Blow to Jazz  Gobert was a relative unknown during a rookie season that saw him log just 45 appearances, but he grew into a full-blown defensive force after Enes Kanter was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder last February. 

Following the All-Star break, Gobert averaged 11.1 points, 13.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks while recording an individual defensive rating of 93. By season's end, Gobert ranked second among all players with a defensive box score plus/minus of plus-5.1.

Now in his first season as a full-time starter at center, Gobert's averaging 8.7 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.4 blocks.
