Report: Adidas to Re-Release Kobe Bryant’s EQT Elevation ‘1997 Dunk Contest’

Adidas will be re-releasing the shoes that Kobe Bryant wore as he won his first major NBA award, the 1997 Slam Dunk Contest title.

Back when Kobe Bryant was still signed with Adidas as an 18-year-old rookie, he became the face of the EQT Elevation. While the shoes saw minimal court time (partly because Kobe wasn't a starter at that point), he chose to wear a special edition in a Lakers colorway during his 1997 dunk-contest victory, which Adidas will bring back, according to Brendan Dunne of Sneaker News.
