The Dallas Mavericks are fighting to make the playoffs this year, but the injury bug continues to bite them with the news guard Raymond Felton is now out for some time.

Groin Strain Sidelines Felton Friday, April 1 Felton has suffered a right groin strain and will miss Friday's crucial game against the Detroit Pistons, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com.

Felton, who started the last nine games for the Mavericks, has become a crucial part of the Dallas offense in the absence of Chandler Parsons (knee). Felton has scored in double figures in four straight games and is coming off an 11-point performance against the New York Knicks on Wednesday.

The Mavericks came into Friday's game as the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference, but they are tied with the No. 8-seeded Utah Jazz and only a half-game ahead of the Houston Rockets. Dallas has had to continue its playoff push without Parsons, who underwent surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee March 22.
