Ray Allen: Latest News, Rumors, Speculation on Free-Agent SG

Ray Allen has yet to officially retire from the NBA, but it's looking increasingly likely the legendary shooting guard's playing career is over. The Miami Herald's Ethan J. Skolnick reported Monday those close to Allen "uniformly expect him to remain retired."

Past Issues Likely Excluding Miami Heat as Option for AllenMonday, Jan. 25In addition to playing down the chances of Allen ever stepping onto an NBA court again, Skolnick explained why the Heat are unlikely to be contenders for his signature:

This shouldn't be all that surprising, if you were aware of his frustration during his final season in Miami, the one that ended with a five-game Finals loss to the Spurs; he made that frustration, about everything from scheduling to rotations, well enough known to Heat teammates, coaches and officials, that it has been frequently relayed to reporters (like this one) since.
