Rajon Rondo Injury: Updates on Kings Star’s Thumb and Return

Sacramento Kings point guard Rajon Rondo will miss at least one game as he battles right thumb tendinitis.

Rondo Listed as Day-to-Day Friday, Feb. 26 The Kings' official Twitter account relayed the update, noting Rondo will miss the team's game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday. Furthermore, the team reported that Rondo's X-rays came back negative. 

This is another physical setback for Rondo, who is no stranger to injuries. He tore his ACL, broke his hand and suffered facial fractures in the past and dealt with back issues earlier this season.

Rondo is a four-time All-Star who won a championship ring with the Boston Celtics in 2007-08 and is the best ball-handler on the Kings roster this season.

While he had well-documented issues with the Dallas Mavericks last season and clashed with head coach Rick Carlisle on a number of occasions, he is a playmaker in the open court and consistently ranks among the NBA’s assist leaders.
