The Portland Trail Blazers sustained their scorching hot start to the season by draining a franchise-record 21 three-pointers in a 139-105 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. They fell two shy of tying the NBA record of 23 made threes in a single game.
What's even crazier is that the team's previous record lasted only eight days after they rained down 17 triples in a 130-98 victory over the Utah Jazz on Dec. 6.
And if you want to know just how hot the Blazers were on a night when they shot 56.8 percent from beyond the arc, consider this:
The 21 threes are also the most made by a team in one game so far this season; the Houston Rockets previously held the high mark after dropping in 19 shots from beyond the arc against the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 29.
All in all, it was a dominant offensive performance for the top dogs in the West.
Eight Portland players finished in double figures; LaMarcus Aldridge led the Blazers with 20 points (10-of-15 shooting) and a game-high 16 rebounds.
