Philadelphia 76ers vs. New Jersey Nets: Can We Buy a Win?

Maybe Mikhail Prokhorov should use his money to buy the New Jersey Nets a win.

New Jersey dropped their eighth straight game against the Philadelphia 76ers, 82-77, at home. The Nets have now lost all seven games in the month of December, which sets a franchise record to start the month.

These two teams have struggled offensively all season, so the low scoring was expected.

It didn’t help that Anthony Morrow injured himself during pregame warm-ups. He tried to play but was removed after about a minute of action.

The Nets couldn’t get anything going in the first half, and the 76ers were able to maintain a six-to-eight point lead for most of the way.

New Jersey had their patented second half run to make the game close, cutting the lead to within three. However, Philadelphia stormed back in the blink of an eye to increase the lead back to 10.

Late in third, the Nets showed some more signs of life, which put them in the position to compete for a comeback win. But the 76ers kept making big shots.
