The Minnesota Timberwolves throttled the Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 110-86 on Thursday night behind huge performances from their two young stars. Minnesota moved to 4-7 on the season, while Philadelphia is now 2-10.

The Timberwolves broke the game open early in the second quarter, thanks to Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns and some poor shooting by the 76ers. Wiggins finished the game with 35 points and 10 rebounds, while Towns chipped in 25 points and 10 boards. Philadelphia never recovered after its poor first half, which it ended down 61-33.

Thursday’s contest was billed as a matchup of two of the best young centers in the NBA, Towns and Joel Embiid. However, Towns stole the show and Embiid didn’t get too much going in his 22 minutes, scoring 10 points with 10 rebounds on 4-of-9 shooting from the field. The Timberwolves center had a couple of beautiful post moves leading to baskets that left Embiid totally out of position.

Minnesota plays next at Memphis against the Grizzlies on Saturday, while the Sixers will prepare to host the Phoenix Suns on the same night.
