Perry Jones to Celtics: Latest Trade Details, Comments and Reaction

Perry Jones is on the move, as the Boston Celtics announced on Tuesday that they acquired the 23-year-old forward from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald initially reported the deal on Tuesday morning.

The Thunder confirmed the trade on Tuesday afternoon, announcing that they received a trade exception and a protected 2018 second-round draft pick from the Celtics for Jones, a 2019 second-round pick and financial compensation.

Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman clarified that the Thunder will be sending the Detroit Pistons' 2019 second-round pick, which they acquired in the Reggie Jackson trade this past February, to Boston. Specifics about the protection on the second-round pick Boston is sending to Oklahoma City are not yet known.

Despite Jones' youth, the Thunder are likely looking to save money wherever possible after matching the four-year, $70 million offer sheet the Portland Trail Blazers gave to Enes Kanter.
