Peja Stojakovic: Will the Raptors Buyout His Contract?

"Now" that is a word we all hate to hear immediately following any trade.

Yes, some of us still, after all these years, have a sour taste in our mouths from the Vince Carter deal that saw us buyout Alonzo Mourning, who was the supposed centrpiece of the deal.

Then we watched him donate his Heat salary to charity, (since we was being paid by us) and proceed to win an NBA championship.

Buyout is now a dirty word to Raptors fans.

I am not sure how a buyout helps the Raptors besides saving a few million based on the buyout percentage.

I am not a fan of the buyout and I vehemently oppose it in this situation.

Bryan Colangelo can make a very good deal with Peja’s contract and if he doesn't we have to assume he is getting pressure from the top to cut salary in lieu of the new CBA.

If this is the case than our trade exception may be in danger of not being utilized as well.

I doubt this is the case but hearing the words buyout in relation to Peja Stojakovic was very alarming to say the least.
