The Atlanta Hawks ruled forward Paul Millsap out for Wednesday night's game against the Phoenix Suns, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Vivlamore reported earlier Wednesday that a hip injury threatened to keep Millsap on the bench against Phoenix.
Millsap is coming off one of the best seasons of his NBA career. In 81 games, he averaged 17.1 points and nine rebounds per game—the latter was a career high. The 31-year-old also reached his third straight All-Star Game.
With Al Horford and Jeff Teague gone, the Hawks need Millsap to continue being a tone-setter on the offensive end.
Dwight Howard has exceeded expectations since arriving in Atlanta, but the Hawks can't expect him to consistently score at the same level he did during his prime years with the Orlando Magic. Elevating Dennis Schroder to starting point guard in place of the departed Teague was a net negative offensively as well.
