Paul George is still under contract with the Indiana Pacers for three more years, but talks for his tenure to extend beyond that have already begun.

George Begins Preliminary Contract Talks Friday, Aug. 5 According to Bob Kravitz of WTHR.com, George said that preliminary contract-extension discussions have taken place, but they remain in the early stages.

The 26-year-old forward is set to make an average of over $18.3 million per season over the next three years, per Spotrac.com.

After missing all but six games in 2014-15 due to a gruesome leg injury, George bounced back with a career year in 2015-16, averaging a personal-best 23.1 points per game to go along with 7.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists.

George also averaged 27.3 points per game in Indiana's first-round playoff series against the Toronto Raptors, and he nearly spearheaded an upset of the Eastern Conference's No. 2 seed.
