P.J. Hairston Injury: Updates on Hornets Forward’s Quad and Return

Charlotte Hornets forward P.J. Hairston will miss Tuesday's game against the New York Knicks because of a quad contusion and may be out of the lineup for a longer period of time.

Hairston Could Miss Several More Games Tuesday, Nov. 17 Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reported the update that Hornets head coach Steve Clifford provided on Hairston's status prior to tipoff at Madison Square Garden.        

The 22-year-old has started all 10 games for Charlotte this season but has been abysmal, shooting 33.3 percent from the floor with averages of 17.5 minutes and 4.8 points per contest.

Former lottery pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is still recovering from shoulder surgery, and Hairston has failed to capitalize on his opportunity thus far. The Hornets have seen Jeremy Lamb begin to realize his potential amid a hot start to 2015-16, which has offset the disappointment of Hairston's play.
