Anthony Davis scored 30 points and three other New Orleans Pelicans players scored 20 or more as the Pelicans held off the Oklahoma City Thunder, 123-119, at the Smoothie King Center on Thursday night.

This was a wild game right from the get-go.

Davis got off to a terrific start, pouring in 16 points in the first quarter as New Orleans got out to a 35-32 lead after one.

The Pelicans built their lead up to 10 in the second quarter, but the Thunder outscored them by 14 after going down 44-34 to take a 64-61 lead into halftime.

However, an inability to get stops doomed Oklahoma City in the second half.

New Orleans dropped 62 more points over the final two quarters and got 27 points from its bench in the fourth period.

The Pelicans built a 106-95 advantage with just under four minutes to play, and even some attempts at late-game heroics by Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant couldn't close the gap.

Westbrook and Durant combined for 76 points, with Westbrook scoring 44 of those. The only other Thunder player in double-figures was Serge Ibaka, who chipped in 15.
