The defending champion Golden State Warriors completed their comeback against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals on Monday night, winning Game 7 96-88. Golden State had fallen behind 3-1 in the series with two blowout losses on the road but rattled off three consecutive tight wins to clinch its second straight NBA Finals appearance.
Stephen Curry was the game's brightest star, scoring 36 points on seven three-point makes, grabbing five rebounds and passing for eight assists. After the Thunder closed the gap to just four points with just over a minute left, Curry scored the Warriors' final six points to secure the victory.
Golden State's advantage from behind the arc may have been the biggest factor in the game. The Warriors made 17 of their 37 long-distances attempts, while Oklahoma City made just seven of its 27 three-point shots. Much of that gap came in the third quarter, when the Warriors stormed to an 11-point lead with a 29-12 advantage in the frame.
