Oklahoma City Thunder-Sacramento Kings: The Serge Ibaka Swat Show

The league’s easiest team to fall for continued to woo, as the Thunder steamrolled the Kings Wednesday night, 126-94. 

Oklahoma City poured in 68 points in the first half, and the game was over soon after. 

Daequan Cook scored a season-high 20 points off the bench, while league-leading scorer Kevin Durant added 17 points in 27 minutes of play. 

The Thunder had seven players score in double-figures, while holding an undermanned Sacramento squad to 40 percent shooting.

Of note in the video above? Serge Ibaka is awesome. 

I was inappropriately close to titling this article Serge I-blak-a, which would have gone a long way to sully the good name he’s building for himself.

He’s now sixth in the league in blocks, despite averaging just 26 minutes a game and his overall contributions continue to beg the question: Why is he not starting? 

I suspect the answer is to maximize Jeff Green and that’s an appropriate angle for Scott Brooks to be taking. But if Ibaka continues to develop at the rate that he has, he’ll soon become one of the best two-way fours in ...
