When I first heard the rumors that LeBron James would join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami to form a super team, I thought to myself, "No way!"
He is not that stupid.
He will not destroy his career to do something this stupid.
And then, he did it.
I was completely shocked when I first heard this on his "several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his 'decision' unlike anything ever 'witnessed' in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment."
P.S. You gotta love Dan Gilbert.
Anyway, I then thought of the repercussions of making this decision and I realized that LeBron James can never again be compared to players such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, or even Tim Duncan.
All of the above are great players who never abandoned their team in such a disrespectful manner to form a team with two of the top five most talented players in the league today.
Oh no they didn't.
