Interim head coach Joe Prunty told reporters Mayo will not play against New York, adding the guard wanted to take part in the contest, but "does not want to add to injury."

"Fourth quarter (Friday) I couldn't move," Mayo told reporters. "Who doesn't want to play in [Madison Square] Garden? It's moreso don't be a bonehead."
Mayo added he had no lift on his jump shot in the fourth quarter against the Dallas Mavericks.
Hamstring Continues to Hamper Mayo's Season
Mayo dealt with a hamstring injury at the start of the season, and the nagging ailment caused him to miss the first 11 games before making his debut on Nov. 19.
