Nikola Mirotic Injury: Updates on Bulls PF’s Concussion and Return

Chicago Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic left Wednesday's game against the Denver Nuggets with a head injury and didn't return.

Mirotic Diagnosed with Concussion Wednesday, Dec. 2 K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune provided the update and added Mirotic will need to pass through the NBA's concussion protocol before taking the floor again. Originally, the combo forward was considered questionable to return after suffering a facial laceration that required stitches, according to Bleacher Report's Sean Highkin.  

The combo-forward made his NBA debut during the 2014-15 season, and results were mixed as he adjusted to life in a crowded frontcourt that included Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson. Appearing in all 82 games a year ago, Mirotic averaged 10.2 points and 4.9 rebounds on 40.5 percent shooting from the field and 31.6 percent shooting from three.

Now in his second year with the Bulls, Mirotic entered Wednesday averaging 12.6 points and 6.5 rebounds while knocking down 39.1 percent of his shots, including 35.1 percent from three.
