Nik Stauskas was a big addition for the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason, giving the team a much-needed perimeter shooter. But he'll need to recover from a tibia stress fracture that is set to keep him out for two weeks, per Bob Cooney of the Philadelphia Daily News.

Stauskas Should be Ready for Start of Regular SeasonMonday, Oct. 5The shooting guard told Brian Seltzer of 97.5 The Fanatic that he expects to be ready to start the regular season and that getting in three days of practice before the injury helped him get introduced to the team.

That's good news for the Sixers, who expect him to play a key role with the team, per Dei Lynam of Comcast SportsNet:



Stauskas, 21, struggled during his rookie season with the Sacramento Kings, averaging just 4.4 points and 1.2 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per game. He came over to the Sixers in a trade this offseason that also netted the team Sacramento’s 2018 first-rounder and the right to swap first-round picks with the Kings in 2016 and 2017, among other considerations.
