Nik Stauskas Injury: Updates on 76ers Guard’s Knee and Return

The Philadelphia 76ers have done nothing but lose this season, and things took a turn for the worse Monday when guard Nik Stauskas suffered a knee injury against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Stauskas Ruled Out for Remainder of Game Monday, Nov. 23 Stauskas started Monday’s contest and scored two points in 12 minutes before knee pain became an issue. Brian Seltzer of Sixers.com confirmed the Michigan product would not return, and Marshall Harris of CSNPhilly.com noted that Isaiah Canaan started the second half in Stauskas’ place.

Stauskas will have an MRI tomorrow, per Bob Cooney of the Philadelphia Daily News.

While knee injuries are always concerning, this is already a lost season for a Philadelphia franchise that has its eyes firmly set on the future. Making sure the 22-year-old guard’s knees are healthy for the long term is more important than rushing him back during a November stretch.

Stauskas has struggled since a hot start. He has only one double-digit scoring outing and two scoreless games in his last six contests. In all, the guard was averaging 9.8 points and 2.2 assist ...
