Nicolas Batum Injury: Updates on Hornets Star’s Knee and Return

Charlotte Hornets star Nicolas Batum will be out of the lineup for the time being because of a left-knee injury.

Batum Out vs. Raptors Tuesday, April 5 The Hornets' PR Twitter feed reported Batum will miss Tuesday's game in Toronto, citing head coach Steve Clifford as the source of information. Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer specified Batum is dealing with a knee strain.

Since Batum is versatile enough to play the 2 or 3, Clifford has an interesting tactical task on his hands for the near future. Nathan Gottlieb of HBO speculated about how he may reshuffle the lineup:



Batum has been a valuable contributor to the Hornets this season, averaging 15.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists. He logged a triple-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in Charlotte's 100-85 win over the Philadelphia 76ers last Tuesday.
