Nicolas Batum Injury: Updates on Hornets Forward’s Ankle and Return

Charlotte Hornets forward Nicolas Batum suffered a sprained left ankle against the Boston Celtics on Monday night.

Batum Out for Remainder of Game Monday, April 11 The Hornets announced Batum would miss the rest of Charlotte's road contest against the red-hot Celtics.

This is a big blow to the Hornets if Batum is forced to miss extensive action given the timing of the injury. Charlotte has battled for playoff positioning throughout the season and can ill afford to lose one of its top options at this point with the postseason looming. 

Batum joined the Hornets this offseason after spending the first seven years of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers. Thus far, he has posted career-high scoring numbers in 2015-16 with 15.1 points per game.

He can also contribute on the boards, shoot from three-point range and set up teammates to score as a threat to post a triple-double every time he takes the floor.
