Next Moves for Daryl Morey and Houston Rockets’ Crazy Offseason

The Houston Rockets' roster has undergone a complete makeover. Gone are Kyle Lowry, Luis Scola, Goran Dragic, Samuel Dalembert and Chase Budinger. 

In their place, the Rockets drafted Royce White, Jeremy Lamb and Terrence Williams in the first round of this year's draft. While all three players have promise, they are all unproven at the NBA level and may not be ready for the physicality of a long season. 

In the 2011 NBA draft, the Rockets chose Patrick Patterson and Donatas Motiejunas, who recently signed with the team, in the first round. The Rockets are loaded with young talent at the moment, but they may be looking to move some of their young pieces for some proven veterans. 

At shooting guard, Kevin Martin remains a talented scorer, even if he declined slightly last season. Martin is also entering the final season of his contract, so his expiring deal will be coveted by GM's across the league.

Rockets' GM Daryl Morey has made his intentions quite clear; he is in pursuit of a superstar. He has looked over the recent history of the Rockets and has decided to try a different approach.
