It wasn't pretty—as many wins against the New York Knicks are—but in the end, the New Orleans Pelicans defended their home court, topping the Knicks 104-93 and serving them their ninth-straight loss.

The teams played even through much of the game, with Anthony Davis struggling out of the gate while Amar'e Stoudemire led his team to early success. But even with the Pelicans' frontman in a funk, the Pelicans remained on top, and blew it open once Davis became a reliable two-way presence. He finished with 18 points on 6-of-14 shooting, adding eight rebounds and three blocks.

Even with Davis' second-half resurgence, New Orleans top dog tonight was Tyreke Evans, who scored a game-high 27 points (11-of-15 from the floor), six assists and four rebounds. He paced the team throughout, keeping them from collapsing during Davis' rough patches and facilitating them as they closed New York out. Omer Asik, 16 points and 14 rebounds, was tremendous inside, granting his team second-chance opportunities and cleaning up the scraps.
