The New York Knicks cut a 22-point lead all the way down to two, but their comeback came up just short as the Milwaukee Bucks held on, 117-113, Tuesday in Milwaukee.

The Bucks were led by a vintage performance from Ersan Ilyasova, who scored 20 points in 20 minutes off the bench, while shooting 8-of-10 from the field.

The five Milwaukee starters brought great balance, each scoring between 12 and 14 points. O.J. Mayo added 11 off the bench.

New York clawed its way back into the game behind hot streaks from Carmelo Anthony and Tim Hardaway. They scored 26 and 24 respectively. Iman Shumpert paced New York early and finished with 21 points.

The Knicks continue their road trip, Wednesday, against the Minnesota Timberwolves at 8 p.m. ET. The Bucks will also be on the road Wednesday, taking on the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. ET.
