December is the beginning of a very grueling schedule for the New York Knicks that lasts all the way into early February. From December 12 through December 30, the Knicks' opponents record is 79-51.
That includes two games against the underachieving Miami Heat and a game against the overachieving Cleveland Cavaliers. Only a .600 winning percentage, but the quality of the teams they are playing is ridiculous.
Denver, Boston, Oklahoma City, Chicago and Orlando are all certified in the playoffs, and Miami will eventually turn it on once they finally start listening to Erik Spoelstra and play some team ball. This is the first real test of the season for the Knicks, and I think getting out of this eight-game run with three or four wins is a huge success.
They matched up well against Denver earlier in the year, and you can't expect Gary Forbes to go off again like that (although he has been fairly consistent). Also, if Carmelo Anthony is still playing the type of selfish, foul-ridden offense he has grown accustomed to playing this season, expect the Knicks to maybe win this one at home.
