New York Knicks: Changing of the Guards

A lot has changed in Knicksland this offseason. The turnover has been incredible. Only Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Toney Douglas, and Eddy Curry remain from last year’s opening night roster. That means only three players remain from last season's opening night roster, because we all know Eddy Curry doesn’t count.

In order to help you get acquainted with the new look Knicks I’ll be starting a series of season preview pieces today.

Starting with the guards. Out are Nate Robinson, Chris Duhon, Tracy McGrady, Sergio Rodriguez, Eddie House, and J.R. Giddens. In are Kelenna Azubuike, Raymond Felton, Landry Fields, Roger Mason, and Andy Rautins. Accompanying the new guys will be holdovers Toney Douglas and Billy Walker.

 

Kelenna Azubuike – '09-10 Stats: 13.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg

Acquired in the David Lee trade, Azubuike brings this team something they desperately need. Defense. Over his four year NBA career Azubuike has been a disruptive force on defense while shooting 40 percent from downtown.
