After beginning the season off with a winless 0-16 record there is not much argument to be made for head coach Lawrence Frank.
“Frank, whose Nets helped him set an NBA mark by winning his first 13 games as coach in the 2003-04 season after he replaced Byron Scott, is in the final year of a contract that pays him $4 million this season,” says ESPN.
It’s always a very debatable issue when discussing the firing of coaches and in Byron Scott’s case it could be made that he deserved to continue coaching for the New Orleans Hornets after they began the season with a 3-6 record.
But in Franks case, although I like the guy, there is no support backing him of doing even a mediocre job with this squad thus far.
My question is, is it really Franks fault?
What if Phil Jackson coached the Nets for the first 16 games of the season, would they still have a winless record?
I guess where I am trying to getting at with this is when do you cross the line between a coach simply doing his job and his players clearly not performing to their ability?
